Solargiga Energy Secures GW-Scale Contract for Saudi NEOM Megaproject

Solargiga Energy has recently signed an agreement with the globally renowned EPC company, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), to provide inverter solutions for Saudi Arabia’s NEOM New Future City 2.2 GWac single-unit photovoltaic project. This project boasts a direct current (DC) capacity of 2.97 GWdc, making it the largest single-unit photovoltaic power station globally, and it will supply power to the NEOM green hydrogen project. This collaboration marks a significant milestone following their agreement in December of last year for a 600 MWh energy storage system within the NEOM New Future City development. It will further support the development of Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city and expedite local energy transformation.

NEOM New Future City is a key project aimed at realizing Saudi Arabia’s “2030 Vision.” Located in the northwestern region of Saudi Arabia, the city is planned for preliminary completion by 2040 and is envisioned to become a hub of artificial intelligence. As part of its efforts to reduce its reliance on oil, NEOM New Future City is set to host the world’s largest green hydrogen project, producing green hydrogen through clean energy sources like photovoltaics.

The Middle East has gradually emerged as a new battleground for global renewable energy companies, and it is also one of Solargiga Energy’s crucial strategic markets. The company has established a comprehensive sales, technical support, and after-sales service network in the region, securing a leading market share position. Solargiga Energy has provided solutions for various large-scale photovoltaic power plants and solar-storage integration projects, including the 1.6 GW Sudair project in Saudi Arabia, the 800 MW project in Qatar, the 900 MW project in Dubai, the 1.5 GW project in Abu Dhabi, and more, solidifying its position in the Middle East’s renewable energy sector.
