In March 2024, Arctech Solar, a leading provider of solar tracking and fixed mounting solutions, successfully secured a contract for the Manah I 500MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant project in Oman, providing its PV tracking systems. This marks another significant project won by Jiangsu Arctech Solar Co., Ltd. (“Arctech Solar”) in the Oman region, following its involvement in the Manah II 588MW PV power plant project in 2023.
The Manah I project is located in the AD-Dakheliah province of Oman, with a total capacity of 640MW (DC). The region experiences a tropical desert climate, often affected by extreme weather conditions such as heavy rainfall, strong winds, and sandstorms. Additionally, the complex terrain and issues with water accumulation in low-lying areas pose high demands on the stability and terrain adaptability of PV tracking systems.
In response to these challenges, Arctech Solar offers customized solutions. The project will utilize Arctech Solar’s 1P SkySmart II product, known for its multi-point parallel driving technology and exclusive six-dimensional circular main beam design, significantly enhancing the stability of the tracking system under extreme weather conditions.
The protection wind speed of this tracking system can reach up to 22m/s, and its highly stable main beam structure allows for the extension of column spans to 10 meters, reducing the number of column installations by approximately 20% and further lowering civil construction costs.
Arctech Solar, founded in 2009, has established a solid reputation worldwide as a manufacturer and solution provider specializing in PV tracking systems, fixed mounting systems, and building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems. The company successfully went public on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2020, further enhancing its market position.
Currently, Arctech Solar operates four major production bases in Jiangsu Changzhou, Anhui Fanchang, Anhui Susong, and Gujarat, India, with an annual capacity exceeding 20GW. Additionally, the company has multiple subsidiaries or market service centers worldwide to better serve customers in different regions. In the Middle East region, Arctech Solar’s branches cover countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
This latest contract for a large-scale PV power plant project in Oman undoubtedly strengthens its market position in the region.
