CNPC Engineering & Construction Gulf Region Company has been awarded the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) contract for ADNOC Onshore’s P5 station external facilities project. This achievement marks the company’s second EPCM project in the Gulf region.
Project Overview
As part of ADNOC’s P5 production enhancement plan, aimed at increasing crude oil production to 5 million barrels per day by 2027, this project stands as the largest within the plan. It boasts a 51-month timeline and focuses on expanding existing gathering facilities and building new ones to boost production capacity. Upon completion, the Bab Oil Field is expected to increase its output by 91,000 barrels per day, while the Bu Hasa Oil Field will see a production increase of 100,000 barrels per day.
The successful bid represents CNPC Engineering & Construction’s commitment to meticulous bidding practices and restructuring its business operations. Following the receipt of the tender documents in March 2023, the company conducted an in-depth analysis of the project contract terms and scope, optimizing project execution strategies and costs. Out of intense competition involving over ten Western and Middle Eastern companies, CNPC Engineering & Construction emerged victorious.
On May 30, 2023, ADNOC Onshore officially awarded the Project Swing contract to CPECC. This marks CPECC’s first EPCM project in the Gulf region and is jointly executed by the Gulf Region Company and the Beijing branch.
